- Acting as a Pharmacovigilance contact point
In March 2019 I started in the pharmacovigilance group as a Pharmacovigilance Officer. The pharmacovigilance group is part of the global product safety Therapeutics unit in Frankfurt. This unit is responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the safety profile of Merz Therapeutics medicinal products. Etablished procedures within this unit ensure the collection, detection, assessment, monitoring, and prevention of adverse effects with Merz Therapeutics medicinal products.
As a pharmacovigilance group we are establishing a global safety network with our Merz Affiliates and Distribution Partners to ensure the exchange of adverse effects information. This network is the basis of our Merz Pharmacovigilance System.
In July 2020 I became the Deputy Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance in the EU and the Deputy Graduated Plan Officer in Germany for all Merz medicinal products. I also took over the responsibility of Deputy UK-Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance in January 2021.
In pharmacovigilance the safety of patients is our passion – the safe and beneficial use of our medicinal products is our highest goal. I contribute to this goal by maintaining safety data exchange procedures and standard operating procedures.
This ensures a detailed oversight of the safety profiles of our Merz Therapeutics medicinal products and continuously enhances our pharmacovigilance system to guarantee “better outcomes for more patients”.
The working environment at Merz is very supportive. Your work and your ideas are valued and contribute to positive changes within Merz. This happy and healthy working environment motivates me throughout the day.
The working culture at Merz is based on teamwork. This culture forms the basis of the open and friendly exchanges I have with my national and international colleagues to strive towards “better outcomes for more patients”.
Take one step after another! When the opportunity comes, take a risk – try something new and go with the challenge, and most importantly, always stay authentic!
